    1. This collection of short stories was beautifully written. In each story I found a familiar place whether in a feeling or a memory, I think, because of the author's ability to take me there. After I read one story, I looked forward to the next.

    2. Reading this collection of short stories briefly wrapped me in the many Michigan seasons I have enjoyed. The author's intimate knowledge of the landscape and its people lends a distinct quality to the stories. I enjoyed the open-endedness of the stories, many of which carried the melancholy tone of overcast spring days and fall drizzles but left the possibility of the hope and wonder of a warm glimpse of sunshine and a robin's song.

    3. “This Local Indie favorite, part of the Made in Michigan Writers Series, presents a collage of moments in the lives of average people with small-town northern Michigan as a backdrop. Author Phillip Sterling invites readers to share his characters’ small tragedies and victories in fifteen deceptively simple, intimate stories.” —Mark at KDL’s Krause Memorial branch
